AUTHOR RULES
In «BIOTECHNOLOGY» journal the articles on different directions of current biotechnology are published: review, theoretical and experimental articles, and articles on new methods, history of biotechnology and those on social, legal, moral and ethical problems of the field. Materials on scientific and commercial actions (symposiums, conferences, exhibitions, etc.), personnels (anniversaries, necrologues), information on the important biotechnological news, articles concerning history of the branch are published in the journal. It is desirable not to be limited to simple statement of the facts but to give own analysis and estimation. In New publications on biotechnology and adjoining branches of science section the domestic and foreign monographies, collections on biotechnology problems and allied sciences are discussed.
The works putting into print should contain new data not published earlier. The authors are responsible for authenticity of data received and given in their articles and they pledge not to
transfer their publication rights for the other publishing house until their publication in «Biotechnology» journal. Editorial Board make a decision concerning issuance of an article after obligatory secret review made of leading researchers in that branches of biotechnology that satisfy the subject-matter in view of its scientific significance and actuality.
Basic requirements to the articls: novelty and validity of the given facts, reproducibility of the experimental results as provided by reduced methods and paper work according to the journal requirements.
The manuscripts written out of rules are returned to the authors without consideration.
An article followed by a letter containing the following information about the authors:
– author's full name (authors are responsible for spelling their full name in Ukrainian, English or Russian);
– addresses, telephone, fax and e-mail;
– if there are some authors it needs to point out a person who could do corespondence.
The author(s) must give a conclusion of a commission on bioethics in case of carrying out
their experiments with the animals.
Manuscripts should be normally subdivided into the following sections:
1. UDC.
2. Article title.
3. Author's full name.
4. Institution(s) where the given work was done.
5. E-mail.
6. Summary written in language of the main text.
7. Key words.
8. Text of the article. (Experimental works
should have the following parts: introduction without heading; materials and methods; resuls and discution; conclusion.).
9. Varias (gratitude, other information).
10. References.

Summary
An article should begin with a summary (in Ukrainian, Russian and English) each of them contains approximately 200-250 words.
References
– should be numbered by single numerals within square brackets and listed in umerical order on a separate sheet. Numeration should be succinct (i.e. avoiding repetition to the same studies); article titles must be included as well. If references are incomplete the manuscript will be returned to the author before editing;
– periodicals [1], books [2] and abstracts [3] should accord in the reference list with the following examples:

Tables
– should bear a short descriptive heading and be typed on separate sheets. All the abbreviations given in the tables should be explained in the Notes to them;
– should be numbered according to their mentioning in the text.
Figures
– should not duplicate the tables;
– should be given in double copies with corresponding caption;
– should be numbered according their mentioning in the text;
– should be given in any following format: tif, bmp, wmf, gif, jpg, eps.
