Current project:
1. Metabolic pathways, metabolic pathway relations and their regulation mechanisms under normal and pathological conditions in vivo The role of formaldehyde and nitrogen oxide interaction in the mechanism of their biologic action. Investigation of some key-note reactions that combine NO and formaldehyde metabolism and the presence of correlate interactions between these reactions and oxidant-antioxidant system. For this work we use the experimental models, in which hyper production of the formaldehyde and NO in rats is depicted. The role of the formaldehyde and NO interaction in the pathogenesis of experimental lathyrism, diabetes etc. We give special attention to the detection of changes in the free formaldehyde and NO levels, to the research of correlative interactions in the NO and formaldehyde metabolisms and to the investigation of the prooxidant-antioxidant processes in the cells and tissues of the organism, to the study of changes in collagen and other out-matrix macromolecular substances of the musculoskeletal system. The character of cytotoxic action of donors and acceptors of formaldehyde and NO is studied. Investigation of the role of stomach helicobacteriosis in the manifestation of side-effects after application of some drugs and toxicants. Examination of the possibility of alternative ways of the methanol toxic action.
2. The improvement of the criteria-significant biochemical indicators and the methodological basics of their use for the assessment of metabolism condition.Creation of integral criteria and separate biochemical tests for the evaluation of the influence on the organism by such factors as the pathological conditions, the chemicals and physical factors. Development of standard operational procedures according to the international requirements. Searching for the biomarkers that identify the charge of formaldehyde and the charge of nitrogen oxide on the organism, also the investigation of the effective methods and instruments for the prophylaxis and cure the diseases, and for decrease of side effects at the therapy. Development of new dietary additives and pharmaceutical agents that can influence on the formaldehyde and NO levels, and counteract their harmful effect on the organism. This work is made on the basis of the new data of metabolic ways of NO and formaldehyde interaction and their common toxic action on the organism.
