Department of Enzyme Chemistry and Biochemistry The name of subjects/ projects and their short contents Research project “The study of fibrinolysis mechanism at the normal state, acute phase and oxidative stress conditions as a base for new plasminogen-containing class of thrombolytic drugs production“. The name of the program: Departmental NASU
The field of research is:
• discoordination in fibrinolytic cascade due to abnormal levels of plasminogen, tissue plasminogen activator(t-PA), plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1) levels and the level of protein C in the blood plasma of the patients with thrombogenic pathologies;
• causal relationships between inflammation and coagulation/fibrinolysis;
• detection of redox-sensitive proteins in fibrinolytic system and experimental approaches to their involvement in redox modification process.
Research project: „Investigation of the molecular mechanism of fibrinolysis in the state of acute phase accompanying thrombogenic diseases”. The program :“ The modern medico-biologic problems and human environment”.
The field of research is:
• The study of fibrinolysis mechanism under conditions of protein C deficiency.
• The investigation of cause and effect relationship between the appearance of acquired protein C deficiency and the development of inflammation or oxidative stress.≠
• The elaboration of the methods for testing of protein C level and functional activity in the blood protein preparations.
In the frame of research project (N15) “Structural and functional analysis of the proteins at the normal and pathological state”: Chapter “ The elaboration of the method for obtaining of protein C concentrate.”The complex purposeful program “
”
The investigations directed on:
• The elaboration of the methods of synthesis of metal- affinitive sorbents for protein C purification from human plasma on the base of copolymerization of allyl and methacrylate monomers with acrylamide.
• The elaboration of methods for protein C purification from Cohn fractions and the testing of quality of the obtained final product.
Scientific stuff of the Department and List of thear publications:
The chairman of the Department - doctor of biological science, prof. Kudinov Stanislav Olexandrovich. Prof. Kudinov S.O. has been investigating the fibrinolysis mechanism since 1980 th. He particularly investigates the structure of plasminogen molecule, as well as the localization, chemical nature and specificity of its interaction with substrates. He is the author of conception about the physiological relevance of thrombolytic therapy by plasminogen preparation. His present scientific interests concern the investigation of pathophysiological mechanism of fibrinolysis and the ways of its correction.
